The Level 3 STA Pool Plant Operations Qualification is the highest level of training available for those who are responsible for the management and maintenance of swimming pools, spas, and interactive play features.
The Course
Who is the course designed for?
This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility for pool plant operations, maintaining plant rooms, ensuring safe bather conditions and water testing.
Course Objective
The STA level 3 Pool Plant Operations qualification is to enable individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required to ensure the safety of swimmers, users, operators and other persons. Whilst providing operators with the skills and knowledge to comply with best practice principles, health, safety and legal responsibilities.
Assessment Methods
This qualification is tutor assessed through the completion of worksheets and practical demonstrations.

Qualification Outline
When You Get Your Qualification

It lasts for 5 years.

The learner needs to retake the qualification before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
How to Take Your Qualification Further
If you use your qualification to manage a wet leisure site, it may mean that you induct staff on how to do conduct water tests as part of their job role. If you enjoy teaching other people and passing on your knowledge and experience, why not look at becoming a pool plant tutor, which would allow you to qualify other people in pool plant training?
